as i’ve mentioned elsewhere on this site, i was a professional journalist for over 20 years. what started in college as a means to get in to see my favorite bands for free somehow turned into a long career of music interviews and criticism that culminated in several editorial positions at national and international publications as well as a three-year stint as the editor-in-chief of a niche dj/dance music publication.

i also held several positions with non-profits, community groups and collectives as a publicist and public relations manager.

i don’t do that professionally anymore, as i tired of the politics of the publishing world and exhaustion of freelance life. now i mostly write for myself. i have had many different blogs over the years – i was an early adopter of the concept – and i’ve been all over social media since it began. currently i use facebook, twitter and instagram.
